BEAUTY BAKERIE LAUNCHES SECOND PHASE OF SUGAR HOMES CHARITABLE INITIATIVE

San Diego, CA – Jul 31, 2019 – Beauty Bakerie, the boundary-breaking cosmetics company, is launching a second initiative in South East Asia for its charitable foundation, Sugar Homes, continuing the company’s early mission to provide strategic development funds for small, female-led orphanages around the world and to make a critical and sustainable difference in the lives of underserved children and their community.

“When I joined the company in 2015, we were faced with structuring an executive team and positioning for rapid expansion,” says Nicholas Lara, Beauty Bakerie’s 27-year-old Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Sugar Homes. “At the same time, we set an intention from day one that we would find a meaningful expression to give while we were growing, and our investment in children represents an integral ingredient in Beauty Bakerie.”

Inspired by Beauty Bakerie Founder Cashmere Nicole’s personal experience as a woman and entrepreneur, Sugar Homes nurtures a partnership with one orphanage at a time to ensure the fundamental rights and needs of orphaned children are met, and to instill a sense of hope for the future. Initial funding began with Hopeworth Children’s Foundation in Kasese, Uganda.

Lara implemented a two-pronged approach, guiding Sugar Homes to partner with an existing orphanage to strengthen the resources available by funding basic needs of food and shelter. Once goals are met, funding shifts to implement a solid educational component. The newest initiative for Sugar Homes establishes a partnership with the One Love Orphanage in Indonesia and begins with support to build a new, expanded home for children between the ages of 1 and 16.

Launched in 2016, the 501(c)(3) charity ensures that all donations go directly into nurturing and transforming the lives of the children.  To date, Beauty Bakerie has provided over $110,000 in charitable funding, including Hopeworth Children’s Foundation, where the donations have served to complete construction of a new building, to install security measures such as proper fencing, and to furnish the expanded school with educational materials and supplies.

“Giving money isn’t the marker we set for success,” says Lara. “Our true goal is to set in motion a cycle of hope that fuels the independence and future of the orphanage. We are ready to add a new partnership to Sugar Homes precisely because our spark of hope has ignited Hopeworth to take powerful steps to provide for a successful future, notably by directing increased emphasis to the orphanage’s Worth a Haven Foundation, which allows them access to greater public funding and grants.”

Beauty Bakerie’s commitment comes as part of a sustained effort by young brands determined to stand with small, underserved communities and to bring about change and awareness.
