7 Tips from Everseal Roofing on How to Hire Roofing Contractor

According to Everseal Roofing, read company reviews before hiring a roofing contractor!

Deciding on the right roofing contractor is a big decision and getting it wrong could cost more than just money.  We don’t want you to have any regrets.

Here are some tips and ideas to help in your decision-making process:

1. Get references and customer contact details.

Ask for references and their contact information.  According to Everseal Roofing any reputable roofing contractor will be happy to provide you with references.  You want to hear from previous customers about the contractor’s work and the quality of their work.

We will happily share references with you so you can hear for yourself straight from the customer, no filter.  We’re confident in our work and hope you do talk with previous customers so they can share their experience with you.

2. Do online research.

You want to see what kind of unbiased reviews and comments are available.  What does Google say about the company?  Also check to see how much experience they have.  You want a contractor who knows what they’re doing.

We’re proud of our combined 75 years in the roofing business and you can see our reviews on Google.  This is all we do … installing the Everseal Roofing system 50 hours a week, 50 weeks a year, with 5-star reviews for over one million square feet of roofs permanently sealed and protected.

3. Is the roofing contractor local?

The last thing you want to do is hire some company just passing through the region.  If you need to contact them, you want to know they are around. A company that’s permanently established in your area and hires local employees is essential.

When it comes to Everseal Roofing, even though we are in many cities across the country, we have local dedicated teams and managers in EACH city we’re privileged to serve.  Each location is staffed with 100% employees – no subcontractors. We’re minutes away anytime you need us.

4. What type of warranty is offered?

It’s essential to ask your contractor what type of warranty they offer on their product AND labor.  Is the warranty coming from the manufacturer, the contractor, or both? If a contractor has a short term labor warranty, that should be a red flag.  There’s no accountability if there’s little or no warranty.

Everseal Roofing 50-year warranty is backed by both us and our manufacturing partners.  We stand behind our product and labor. If something does happen in the future, the material, labor or BOTH will be provided to you for FREE for the next 50 years.  That’s a roof you can count on.

5. Make certain the contractor is insured.

Replacing a roof means an active worksite and injuries can happen.  You want to make sure you are protected by asking if the contractor is fully insured.  Does their insurance also cover all their employees?  If they don’t have proper insurance you could be liable.   You don’t want to risk a potential lawsuit if someone is injured on your property.

Not only does Everseal Roofing have full public liability insurance, our insurance coverage is 2x the normal required limits most property owners or homeowners would ever need.  Should something happen you have the complete peace of mind knowing you’re fully protected.

6. Are the workers direct employees?

This is critical because subs don’t always care for quality as much as direct company employees.  One sub may work for numerous different companies and is often forced to lower their prices in order to win bids.  A subs goal is volume NOT quality.

Since Everseal Roofing only hires direct company employees there is never a worry about sub-contractors or quality.  Every employee is fully trained and certified in the EverSeal system and accountable with multiple audits every single day.  This is all we do 50 hours a week, 50 weeks a year.

7. How responsive are they to your questions?

This may seem obvious, but if your follow-up with a contractor, do they call you back and answer your questions?  Or do they not get back to you for days? Do they provide timely estimates and quotes?  Do they keep their promises?

If they’re acting that way now, how will they be acting when you really need them?

We encourage you to do your own test with us! See how we compare calling your back, completely answering your questions or doing what we promise we will do.  You’ll see that we respect your time and we want you as a satisfied customer.

We hope these tips have been helpful.  Put all your potential contractors through this process before you decide which is best for your roofing project.
